Wheeling at the Slab, Kingsland, TX. 7/7/01

Coming down one of the many obstacles at the Slab. Notice the Customary "Driving while head out the window" style that most rockcrawlers have come to use.
Further down the same obstacle...
Here I'm lining up with a couple of small rocks. Again, notice the perfect form I have hanging my noggin out the window.

...where you see me firmly planting...
...my left rear spring hanger on the granite. It's the ol' "Turtle on a golfball" trick. This takes seconds of practice!
After several attampts, we decided to get the winch. There was no way I was going out backwards.
Robert Canon to the rescue. After several attempts of rock stacki.... er uh, traction manipulation, Roberts winch plucked me out of a sticky situation. They say that you aren't trying hard enough if you're not getting stuck... This was the only time that I needed a tug though!
Here I'm returning the favor and giving Robert a winching point to get him out of a jam that he was in...
After watching the other guys play with this line, I thought I'd give it a try.
Up and over the first ledge...
... straddling the crack ...
... and climbing my way out.
This is "The Wall" I managed to set the sidewall of my spare tire on the ground during this manuever.

I just didn't have the wheelbase necessary to claw my way out of this one. As soon as my back tires hit the wall, all forward motion stopped. But it made for a nice photo op...
