In October 2005 I made the trek to Barnwell Mountian Recreational Area near Gilmer, TX. In attendence were myself, my Dad in the black Jeep, my cousin David in the red Jeep and my neighbor Stacey in the white Land Cruiser. We had a great time, and the weather was perfect. I was able to make it up all but one of the most difficult trails that the park has to offer. There is a trail called DeWoody that I made it to the very top, with 6 feet left to go and the drivers side tire fell into a hole and the motor died. The angle proved too much for the carburetor. Once we got the motor running again and thee winch hooked up, I winched my way up the last ledge and drove out. What a rush!
Here is an overlay or all our GPS routes through Barnwell. The blue lines are where we drove. We did all the trails that you see below in about 8 hours. I waypointed each of the trailheads, so if you are interested you can download them below.

This was to be the last trip for the Big Jeep as I sold it to purchase my next one. Don't expect to see this Jeep on the trails around here anytime soon. The new owner lives in Belgium! This is a great Jeep and it pains me to see it go, but there are other fish to fry out there and I intend to try them all!
There are a ton of HUGE pictures here, so be patient if you do not have a broadband connection.
